GCUFC U-14 BOYS PREMIER

The purpose of this webpage is to provide all parents of the GCUFC U-14 Boys, Premier team timely notification of the team schedule and any near-term issues. Questions concerning the content of this page should be directed to the team manager.

Location Change to TM's on April 17th

The location of the TM's on April 17th is changing. They will probably be at Tatum Fields in Hattiesburg, MS.

Dallas Schedule is Out!!!

Check out our Dallas Schedule in the Upcoming Events section under "Game Times." Our first match is against Costa Rica! All of our games are at the Richland College Complex. 12800 Abrams Road Dallas, TX 75243.

Spring Training Sessions

Regular training sessions begin Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 pm begining on February 9th, 2010 at the Gulfport Sportplex.

The spring schedule is slowy firming up. As issues are resolved the schedule below will be updated. With the exception of the State Cup and MS Fire Classic, there is still much uncertainty after March.

Items of Interest or General Announcements

Uniforms for Training Matches (TM's) and Tournaments

Saturday: Players should wear Blue/Blue/Orange (Sock/Short/Shirt) to all Saturday Tournament games and TM's.

Sunday: Players should wear White/Blue/Orange to all Sunday games and TM's.

Before the game the players will put on either blue or white jerseys. Always bring all uniform items in case of color conflicts btwn teams.

Pre-Game Warmups

The designated team captains warm up the team before matches. Times listed on this webpage are the "Game Start Times". Unless otherwise requested:

Players should arrive one hour before the listed game start times for the first match of the day for both Saturday and Sunday matches.
If there are two matches on the same day, then players arrive 45 minutes prior to the second match.

The Dallas Cup

Opening Ceremonies will be at the Pizza Hut Stadium. All of our games are at the Richland Soccer Complex. Also check out this Dallas area map of all the venues and hotel. Rooms have been blocked with check-in at 3:00 pm on March 27th, 2010 and check-out at 12:00 pm on March 31st at the InterContinental Hotel Dallas. Chelsea, Brazil, and the U-17 Mexican National team are all competing in the Super Group. Expect Henrik to want the players to watch some of these Super Group matches.

MS Spring Classic

Hotel Information: Courtyard Jackson: 601-956-9991, 6280 Ridgewood Court Drive, Jackson, MS 39211. Deadline to reserve a room is April 2nd at which time they will be released to the public. There are 23 Double/doubles reserved under GCU U-14 Boys for April 23-25.

Emerald Coast Cup

Hotel Information: Blocked under GCUFC U-14 Boys at the Quality Inn, (850) 678-8077, 101 Hwy 85 N. Niceville, FL 32578. Check-in Apr 30th at 3:00pm and check-out May 2nd at 11:00 am. 14 double/doubles at a rate of $75. After April 15 the rooms will be released to the public.

State Cup Championship

Hotel Information: Deadline to reserve a room is April 15th at which time they will be released to the public. There are 23 Double/doubles reserved under GCU U-14 Boys for May 28-30. Hampton Inn – Call 601.925.9393; 493 Springridge Road, Clinton, MS 39056

Region III Championships

Region III Championships will be hosted at the Burbank Soccer Complex in Baton Rouge.

Coach Henrik Madsen

Henrik currently holds a National, B Coaches License and, he has been coaching soccer for 16 years at the Middle School, High School, Select, and Collegiate levels. He started his coaching career in Denmark then came to the United States in 1994 where he attended Robert E Lee High School in Midland, Texas. From there he was offered a scholarship to Ambassador University, Dallas, Texas where he played for 1 year before transferring to William Carey University.

Accomplishments:

Has led 8 teams to State Championship Titles
MSA Competative Coach of the year
Has led 2 teams to Regionas quarter finals
Dominican High School State Champion and one final four appearance
LSA Coach of the year
