Oleg Chickhanov, “Chick” began soccer in his native Russia on the Youth National Team. Later, he came to the United States to continue his career and played for William Carey College where he was a 1st Team All-American. He was drafted by 2 professional soccer leagues and went to play with the Nashville Metros (A League) and the Pensacola Flyers (EISL). “Chick” holds a “USSF A” license and is on the MS Olympic development Coaching Staff. He has been assistant coach with Meridian Community College (1997-1999) and most recently was the assistant mens and womens coach at William Carey College (1999-2003). He has been involved in youth soccer for many years and his U13Boys team is the current Mississippi State Champion.

Coach Paul Martin

Paul Martin began his youth playing career in Pascagoula, Ms. In 1983 he was a member of the Pacagoula High school soccer team that won the highschool championship. As a member of the SRSC Blackhawks he was a state champion in 1982 and 1984. He played competitive soccer for 20 years in the United States and Mexico.
He started the first ever youth soccer team in George County in 1991. He helped start the highschool soccer program at George County High in 1993 where he coached the girls and boys for 8 years. In 1999 he was named MYSA girls coach of the year for leading his u16 girls from Lucedale to a state championship. In 2001 he lead the George County highschool girls team to the finals and was named Sun Herald girls coach of the year.
He has been involved in the state ODP program for 8 years currently serving the program as a scout for south mississippi. He is a MSA/USYS Coaching Instructor. He is the lead Instructor for the south district. He lead his 2009 u14boys team to the quarter finals of regionals.
Coach Martin is now the men's head coach at Pearl River Community College.

Coach Chris Pryor

Chris Pryor is a native of South Mississippi and has been involved in soccer for 20 years. He played in the D.O.D.D.S. system in Europe for six years. He played college soccer for William Carey College where he was a two-time All American. Chris holds a “USSF B” license and is on the MS Olympic Development Coaching Staff. He has most recently been involved in coaching youth soccer with SMSC United.

Coach Leto Alibaruho

Leto Alibaruho joins Gulf Coast United having recently completed two seasons as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC. Prior to being promoted at St. Andrews Coach Alibaruho was the Associate Head Coach of both the Knights men and women’s soccer programs. Coach Alibaruho started his college coaching career with two seasons as the assistant men’s soccer coach at Newberry College in South Carolina.
The Uganda native has coached at different youth clubs throughout his travels beginning with New River United in Blacksburg, VA. At CASL, one of Soccer America’s top 25 clubs, Coach Alibaruho’s U12 boy’s team played in the state final. At CASL Alibaruho worked with U16 boy’s teams and as a staff coach of the YTS (U9 and U10) program. His other experience includes Columbia Soccer Club (now SC United) where he led the U14 and U12 boys’ teams. Most recently he was a coach at Singing River Soccer Club. Coach Alibaruho has mentored young players at various camps including the Hokie Soccer Academy, the Clemson Soccer Academy and the UNC-Chapel Hill Soccer Camp.
Coach Alibaruho spent his own youth soccer years in Uganda, Sierra Leone and England. While attending high school in England he earned a spot on the Independent Schools FA U16 England squad. Coach Alibaruho played collegiate soccer at Virginia Tech from 1995 to 1997. He was voted Virginia Tech’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1996 and 1997. He earned All-Conference honors in 1997 and the Hokies won the Atlantic 10 regular season championship capping one of the most successful seasons in school history.
Coach Alibaruho played for the Roanoke Wrath of the United Soccer Leagues in their inaugural season in the summer of 1997. After graduation he gained professional experience with Ugandan champions SC Villa F.C. before rejoining the Wrath for 1999 and 2000 seasons.

Coach Byron Clarke

Byron Clarke began playing soccer in the German youth leagues at age 5 and the club leagues from age 7-11. At age-10 his team was invited to play in the European youth championships. He played in the Japanese club system from the age of 12-14. High school and club soccer were played in New Jersey. In college he played club soccer for LSU and MSU winning several tournaments and championships. After college he briefly played semi-pro for the Chattanooga Express and then played and coached in the New Orleans SELASA men’s league for 8-years earning several league cups. After stopping league play, he earned his National C Coaching License and began coaching with Gulf Coast United. He is the coaching director for SMSC for the 2006-2007 season.

Coach Natalie Colle has been involved with coaching youth soccer since 1999, working with U10 to U18 girls soccer teams. She has been with GCUFC since its beginnings in 2002. She plays soccer in an adult league in Mobile, and is the Head Coach for Ocean Springs Middle School Girls soccer team, since 2004. She is a member of the U.S. Soccer Coaches Organization and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Coach Warren Gifford

Warren Gifford played soccer from the 6th through 12th grade in the Washington D.C. area. He then moved on to the collegiate level play for Cedarville College (now Cedarville University, Ohio) and was a three year starter. The team was 6th ranked nationally. As a result of this accomplishment, he was added to the Hall of Fame at Cedarville. After college he played in numerous indoor and outdoor mens’ leagues in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been coaching since 1984 in Ohio and Mississippi and has coached teams from U-10 to U-18 to several district championships and has produced a U-18 girls’ state champion team.

Coach J.William Gronau

J. William Gronau has been playing soccer since he was 5. He grew up in Dallas and played on the Dallas Solar soccer club and ODP regional team, he played all through high school and Division 1 college ball with Missouri State University. After college he played for the Dallas Burn organization for 2 years and then was traded to Redbull Salzburg FC in the Austrian Budesliga. After injuries kept him from playing on the team, he joined the Navy and went through the most intense and rigorous training to become a SEAL. After medical disqualification, he was stationed in Gulfport, MS., and became part of the All-Navy Soccer team for 3 years.
Bachelors in Sports and Health Science from AMU and is a Strength and Conditioning trainer and currently working on his Masters in Sports Management.

Jeremy Hampton

Jeremy Hampton is joining Houston Dynamo Gulf Coast. Hampton is coming to the Dynamo from Marion Military Institute where he created the inaugural Women’s Soccer Program. He helped MMI create their first full recruiting class. He led the Lady Tigers to their first goal in program history as well as posting their first tie in program history.
Hampton graduated from the Capstone in May 2002 with a BA in Arts & Sciences with a major in History and a minor in Political Science. He graduated from the University of Alabama in May 2010 with a Masters Degree in Kinesiology specializing in Human Performance.
Hampton played high school soccer for Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, Texas. He played club soccer with the Houstonians now a part of the Dallas Texans. He was recruited as center back coming out of high school with many programs recruiting him. Hampton chose to go to the University of Alabama where a center defender and goalkeeper for the Crimson Tide Men’s Club Team while as a student.
Hampton spent three years as an assistant coach at the University of Alabama where instructed the Crimson Tide’s Goalkeepers.
Hampton served as an assistant coach for Central (Tuscaloosa) High School program until his graduation in 2002. During that time Central posted a 46-13-1 record, claimed five region championships and advanced to five consecutive state playoffs.
Hampton also served as head coach at Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Hampton spent one season there before making the move back to Tuscaloosa when he was named the head coach at Hillcrest High School. This fall Hampton will take over the women’s program at Pascagoula High School.
Hampton was also the head goalkeeper coach for the state of Alabama Olympic Development Program.

Coach Patrick Hayes

Patrick Hayes began his youth playing career in Ocean Springs, MS. In 1982, he was a member of the OSSO Whitecaps team that won the State Championship. In 1988, he played for Mississippi’s Olympic Development team. He was a four-year letterman for Ocean Springs High School. He was a member of the 1989 Mississippi Association of Coaches South All-Star High School Soccer Team.
Patrick coached club soccer for SMSC 1997-1998 and was a member of Mississippi’s ODP Coaching Staff 1998-1999 and 2005. He was Assistant Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach at MGCCC from 2002-2004. He helped lead the men’s team to their first ever MACJC State and Regional Championship in 2002. Hayes became Head Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach for Pearl River Community College in 2004. He led the Lady Wildcats to their first ever MACJC State Championship in 2005. Patrick was selected as the MACJC Women’s Coach of the Year in 2005.
In 2007, Coach Hayes became the Head Boy’s Coach for Gulfport High School. He led the Admirals to their first ever South State Championship in 2009. He was named the Sun Herald Boy’s Coach of the Year in 2009. Patrick has returned to his alma mater to coach the Ocean Springs Lady Greyhound Soccer Team.

Coach Dean Joseph

In 2003 Dean started the program at MVSU. He has made the SWAC tournament for 6 consecutive years and has won the SWAC Championsip in 2005 and 2008. He was named SWAC Coach of the year in 2005 and 2008. In 2007 he lead Valley to another SWAC Final. Valley went undefeated in conference play in 2008 for the first time in school history. MVSU has been to more NCAA tournaments than any other SWAC team under the guidence of Dean, in 2005 the Devilettes played UCLA and in 2008 they played Florida State.
Dean played professionally in South Africa for Manning Rangers and African Wanderers. He was signed from Stella FC where he was the leagues top scorer with 23 goals and a member of the Provincial U23 and Men's Team.
In 1992 Dean moved to the USA. He immediately made a name for himself by breaking eight school records and ended 4th top goal scorer in the country in his freshman year at William Carey. In 1993, he tranferred to Tiffin University where he was an All American, All Conference, and team captain. He left Tiffin as the fifth leading scorer of all time, scoring 20 goals in every season and winning 2 Conference Championships. In 2007 Dean was inducted into the Tiffin University Hall of Fame.
Dean moved to Toledo become Director of Coaching for the Greater Toledo Futbol Club. He developed the club from four teams to fifteen teams. He also founded the South African Soccer Academy which is a soccer consulting company.
In 2000, Dean moved to Jackson, MS to become the Director of Coaching for the Jackson FC which was the biggest club in the State. In his first year at JFC he guided the club to a record 10 State Championships which is still a State record. In 2003 he started the MVSU program.

Coach Heinrick Madsen

Henrik Madsen is from Brons, Denmark. At 16 Coach Madsen began to follow in his father’s footsteps of being a coach. He was coaching the U-13 team that won promotion into Mesterraekken. As a player at U-16 he won the 1st Division while playing for EFB in Denmark.
Henrik then started a journey to the United States by participating in the Student Exchange program. He attended Robert E Lee High School in Midland, TX where he lead the conference in Goals and assists. Henrik was offered a scholarship to play at Ambassordor University just outside of Dallas. He set a NAIA freshman record for goals(36). The following year he transferred to William Carey University. While at William Carey the team made back to back appearances at NAIA Final Four.
In 2001 Henrik began coaching at Lakeview Soccer Club in New Orleans, LA. In 2002 he was named Assistant Director of Coaching for the Club. He has coached 8 State Championship teams. Four of those teams went on to play at Regionals where one finished as a quarter finalist. From 2002-2004 Henrik was the Head 8th Grade Coach at Jesuit High School, New Orleans. In 2004 Henrik took the Head Coach position at Dominican High School in New Orleans. In the 2006-2007 his team won the Girl’s High School State Championship. That year Henrik was also named Coach of the Year for Louisiana High School Soccer.
After moving back to Gulfport, MS Henrik joined the staff of William Carey University as the Assistant Women’s Coach where the team advanced to the NAIA elite eight for the first time in the school’s history. Henrik joined Gulf Coast United in 2009. In 2010 his U-15 boys won a State Championship and played at Regionals.
Henrik is the current Head Coach at Gulfport High School.

Coach Mike Martin

Mike started playing soccer in 1979 in Pascagoula with the Gulf Coast Youth Soccer Organization. He played high school soccer for Our Lady of Victories which participated in 2 leagues - Mobile and MS Gulf Coast. Mike lead Our Lady of Victories to both league titles.
He played select soccer with the Blackhawksand brought home the 1982 U19 State Championship.
Mike has been with Gulf Coast United since 2008 and coaching with the boys squad at Resurrection Catholic school.

Coach Neil Scott

Neil has coached with GCUFC since 2009. He is also the assistant coach for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College men's and women's programs. His 2009 MGCCC men won the MACJC State Championship and Region 23 Championship and his 2009 MGCCC women were runners-up in the MACJC state final.
He has coached boys and girls select soccer previously at Meridian Youth Soccer Organization and Brandon Futbol Club. He is also the director of the Gulf Coast Crew soccer organization since its inception in 2006.
Neil played college soccer for Belhaven College, Meridian Community College and Holmes Community College. His youth soccer was played at Pascagoula High School (2004 South State Champion team). He played for Gulf Coast United's first U18 team and won the first ever gold medal for Gulf Coast United under coach Chris Pryor. His previous clubs were Mississippi Coast Futbol Clun and Singing River Soccer Club.

William Sargent (Billy) , Soccer Journey started in Ocean Springs Mississippi at the age of eight. Was playing when Ocean Springs Soccer Organization ( OSSO ) started in 1978. Played select soccer thru U19 level. At age 15 was playing on a Men's semi-pro league on the coast. Played for Ocean Springs High School 1982 -85 finishing with 18 wins 0 losses 199 goals for and 11 against. Received full scholarship at Nichols State University. Due to car wreck had to attend a local school William Carey College on Scholarship it was the first year of the program there. Finished college playing club soccer at USM in the Rock. Finished My Men's league for Intra America in Mobile at age 28.

Jeff began his youth playing career in Pascagoula, MS with Gulf Coast Youth Soccer Organization the age of 10. He was a member of the Pascagoula High School soccer team from 1981-1984. In 1983, he was a member of the Pacagoula High school soccer team that won the high school championship. Jeff has coached youth teams at all levels over the past 10 years. He has recently been on the camp coaching staff at the University of Mississippi.
